Elijah Thurmon Performance Enhancement Coach / Wide Receivers
Born:Heidelberg, Germany
Professional: Elijah is an Anne Arundel County, Maryland native and was a 3-sport athlete at Meade Senior High School. While he concentrated on basketball, Elijah also played football and ran track. Elijah earned a football scholarship to Howard University where he set several MEAC records and ranked number one in the IAA in his senior year.
He was considered a Consensus All-American, having earned every award available in IAA football. Among his most prestigious awards: Associated Press All-American, NCAA Academic All-American and Howard University Excellence Award Scholar-Athlete of the Year among others. Elijah signed his first professional contract with the Philadelphia Eagles. He went on to play with the Oakland Raiders where he was coached and inspired by NFL Hall of Famer, Fred Biletnikoff. As a Raider, Elijah played alongside Jerry Rice and Tim Brown. Elijah is currently playing and coaching in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Montreal Alouettes, 2008 Grey Cup team, where he continues to excel and demonstrate his passion for the game. He earned recognition as a CFL all star, surpassing the 1,000- yard mark. Elijah is a specialist in route running and takes pride in precise footwork.
Coaching Philosophy: Elijah’s coaching philosophy includes swagger, optimism, focus, discipline and relentless pursuit to perfecting one’s craft. Elijah creates a play maker demeanor on the field and in life and he is excited at the opportunity to be a part of your journey to be the best in the world.
Leonard Stephens Performance Enhancement Coach / Tight Ends & Offensive Line
Born: Miami, Florida
Professional: Leonard is a Miami, Florida native, but grew up in Mercer County, NJ. He was a multi-sport athlete at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School in Princeton Junction, NJ competing in football, basketball, and track.
After lettering in three sports, Leonard earned an academic scholarship and a football scholarship to Howard University. While at Howard, Leonard received MEAC All-Academic Awards and 2nd Team All-Conference honors. After graduation, Leonard began his NFL career with the San Diego Chargers. He went on to play with the Washington Redskins, the Detroit Lions, the Seattle Seahawks and the Tennessee Titans. Over his six year NFL career Leonard has played with current and future Hall of Famers and perennial Pro-Bowlers, as well as being coached by future Hall of Famers. Some of those individuals include Darryl Green, Marcus Pollard, Ben Coates, Joe Gibbs, Joe Bugel, and Mike Holmgren.
Coaching Philosophy: Leonard’s coaching philosophy has its foundation in preparation, discipline, and pushing perceived limits. Leonard believes that the more preparation that is done on practice field, the easier the actual game is to play. He believes that sports teach athletes a level of discipline and sacrifice that is life applicable. Lastly, he believes that as athletes will themselves past their perceived mental and physical limits, they become acclimated to that environment and are not shaken when the “game” takes them there.
Curtis Allen Performance Enhancement Coach / Linebackers & Defensive Line.
Born: Staten Island, New York
Professional: Curtis is a Staten Island, NY native, but grew up in Durham, NC. He graduated from Northern Durham High School in Durham, North Carolina. Curtis had an exceptional scholastic and athletic career winning All-Conference, All-Area, and All-Metropolitan linebacker in his junior and senior years.
Curtis led his team to a 4-A State Championship in 1993, a #6 USA Today ranking, and a 4-A State runner-up trophy in 1992. Curtis’s skills and leadership lead him to Howard University in 1994. A four-year starter at Howard, Curtis anchored the defense that won a Black College National Championship in 1996 and led I-AA in five statistical categories. Curtis earned All-MEAC honors in 1996 and 1997. After his successful collegiate career, Curtis entered the coaching ranks, where he has been coaching linebackers on the college level for over 8 years. As a member of the Perfect Performance team, Curtis will use his expertise to work with linebackers. Allen is an experienced, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable coach with over 10 years of college and high school coaching experience
Coaching Philosophy: Curtis’s coaching philosophies emphasizes the importance of discipline, effort, and mental toughness. He believes that extraordinary players do the ordinary things better than anyone else.
Bryson Spinner Performance Enhancement Coach / Quarterbacks
Born: Alexandria, Va
Professional: Bryson attended Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia, where he lettered all 3 years in, football, basketball, and track and was the Senior Captain of all three sports. He helped take the basketball team to three state championships, and was the MVP all three years. His senior year of football he threw for 1388 yards and 16 touchdowns, ran for 888 yards for 21 touchdowns.
He led the team to an undefeated season, 9-0. Bryson was first team All-League, All-District, All-Met, Interstate Athletic Conference First Team basketball and football. He was ranked as the #1 Quarterback in Virginia by The Washington Post his senior year and ranked 12th in the country. Following his stellar high school career, he selected to go to the University of Virginia on a football scholarship. After playing two seasons at the University of Virginia, he transferred to complete his college football career at the University of Richmond. Bryson dominated at the college level, thus he signed a contract with the Seattle Seahawks.
He has also played with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Redskins and allocated to NFL Europe by the San Francisco 49ers. In NFL Europe, he navigated his team to the championship and winning the World Bowl. In 2007 he returned to Episcopal High School as the quarterback’s coach and offensive coordinator.
Coaching Philosophy: Bryson understands quarterbacking requires the discipline to be calm under intense and chaotic conditions. He believes preparation, confidence, focus, and attention to detail are essential in the development of a QB, on the field and in life. “I believe you are either getting better or getting worse. No one stays the same. What are YOU doing to better yourself?” states Bryson.
Aazaar Abdul-Rahim Performance Enhancement Coach / Defensive Backs
Born: Washington, DC
Professional: Aazaar is a graduate of Dunbar Senior High School in Washington DC, a school known for its tradition of producing great athletes. After etching his name in that list of great athletes, Aazaar traveled his defensive back skill to Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona. He only needed a year to achieve National Junior College All-American and was awarded a scholarship to San Diego State University.
Aazaar stepped right into the action and for three years as a starter, he was assigned to every opponent’s best receiver. Continuing his football career professionally, he signed a contract with the Arena Football Leagues, San Diego Riptide. Aazaar’s passion to give back to the youth in his community sparked the creation of the non-profit organization, Positive Choices Inc.
As the Founder and CEO, he maintains a network of professional athletes that have assisted, at various events, in his effort to develop the youth, in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Positive Choices Inc. is not just a football camp but they focus on developing youth in many ways off the field. He has coached at Scripps Ranch High School in San Diego, California and currently Aazaar is the Head Football Coach at Friendship Collegiate Academy in Washington DC. Aazaar enjoys that his high school athletes benefit from his coaching, earn scholarships and excel at the next level.
Coaching Philosophy: Aazaar is a firm believer in being a perfectionist as a defensive backs coach. He harps on being technique sound, attention to details and being a student of the game, that make the difference. Aazaar preaches discipline, mental toughness and consistency on the field of play and in life.
Mike HunterPerformance Enhancement Coach / Running Backs
Born: Washington, DC
Professional: Mike attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington DC and opted to continue his football career in his hometown at Catholic University. He played a major role, during his tenure, in being a member of the winningest class in Catholic University history.
He helped lead his team to the ODAC championship, ranked second in all major receiving categories and therefore he earned All-American twice. Mike remained at his Alma Mater as a coach and was responsible for the offense being ranked near the top of the NCAA Division III in Passing and Total Offense. During his time span of coaching at Catholic University he held several positions such as the offensive coordinator, passing game coordinator, recruiting coordinator, wide receivers coach and kick off return coordinator. Mike Hunter also coached at Howard University and he is currently coaching at Friendship Collegiate Academy. Mike is proud when his high school athletes learn and improve from his teaching, achieve scholarships and excel at the next level.
Coaching Philosophy: Mike’s coaching philosophy is work hard, work smart, and dream big because there is no limit to excellence.
Walt ClineCertification: MS, CSCS, USATF, USAW
Born: Buffalo, New York
Professional: Walt Cline is a Speed / Strength & Conditioning Coach who's methods and training systems have produced superior results for athletes and professionals in the NFL, CFL, MLS, NTA, WPGA, NCAA, NAIA, WBC, WNBA, Fairfax Law Enforcement Training Center, Fairfax Fire Dept, USMC, Navy and Army.
Walt is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist and Certified by the National Strength & Conditioning Association, United States Weightlifting Federation and USA Track & Field.
Walt is the owner and founder of H2 Kinetics LLC and has spent his career refining and developing training methods for developmental, scholastic, collegiate, combative and professional athletes. Walter's ability to teach at many different professional levels is the result of his diverse background in the field of Exercise Science, Health and Physical Education. He earned a BS in Physical Education/Exercise Science from Canisius College NY, and a Masters Degree in Health & Human Performance at Fort Hays State University, KS.
Walt has also served as an Educator at the primary, scholastic and college levels and holds teaching certifications in Health and Physical Education and has taught fundamentals of Health and Human performance from PE to Kinesiology. He has served as a College and Scholastic Track & Field and Football Coach and Scholastic, College and Professional Strength & Conditioning Coach in his Thirteen Year Career. More Recently he has directed, trained staff, developed and coached programs at the largest and highest operating Sports Performance Training Centers in the USA. He currently designs and implements sports performance training programs for Developmental, Scholastic and Collegiate athletic teams and Professional Athletes.
Coaching Philosophy: Walt believes “the real edge in athletics comes from learning and mastering athletic skills and concepts to prepare for individual and team success.
This Developmental process is about assessing the current level of ability, empowering individuals with athletic skill, developing that skill (whatever the level of competition) to its full potential and maintaining a high level of competition with appropriate training methods.
When athletes at any level of competition (Developmental to Professional) see and understand why they are getting better, where they may continue to improve on their individual strengths and weaknesses... this makes for an exciting journey into team and individual success, post season competition, continuing and discontinuing traditions, re-writing record books and what can actually happen when preparation meets opportunity."
Hashin Anderson Performance Enhancement Coach/Soccer
Born: Washington D.C.
Professional: Hashin grew up in Silver Spring, MD. He was a two-sport athlete at Paint Branch High School in Burtonsville MD, playing soccer and basketball for four years. Hashin also competed in the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) and the Region 1 Select Soccer Team. His skill level and acumen earned him All-Met and All County honors. Hashin received a full soccer scholarship to Howard University in the fall of 1995. While at Howard, he was featured in a defense that helped the team win back-to-back Mid-Continent Conference Champions in 1997 and 1998. After graduating with a degree in education, Hashin played amateur league soccer in the Metropolitan Area’s top league, The Copa Taca. After a season in the Copa Taca, Hashin was selected to play in Jamaica's Premiere Soccer League for The Village United. He completed two seasons in the league before returning home.
Coaching Philosophy: My philosophy is to promote confidence and ambition through diligent work of tactical foot skill. Perfect practice through the duration of a training session will enable the athlete to constantly develop as a player, and therefore a person. They will get to know their responsibilities on and off the field of a top performer thus understanding that Perfect Performance comes with a price. The price is perfect practice.
